I am excited to join my first one room challenge, which kicks off today! For this challenge I am renovating a room in my house that I haven’t touched since we moved in. I mean...there is still a wallpaper border up and green carpet. This space has been a combination of a non functional office and storage area.
I plan to transform this space into a FUNCTIONAL office area as well as a guest room. This room will mainly be an office, but will have a sofa bed, which will allow us to easily switch this room over to a guest room when needed.
This room already has some hidden gems, with which I plan to bring back some beauty. This room is one of the brightest rooms in my home, with a lot of natural light, which makes this room a cheerful & bright space where I want to spend a lot of time, especially in the winter months! Underneath the old fashioned green carpet is REAL wood flooring. I can’t wait to rip up the carpet and bring some life back into the floors.
Mood board for this room:

Planned additions to this room:
Phase 1:
Spray paint the inside window frame black
Adding a brick accent wall & painting this white
Painting all remaining walls a very light gray
Ripping up the carpet & bringing some beauty back to the wood floors underneath
Adding faux vertical beams on each side of the accent wall
Hanging two indoor (homemade) macrame swings & adding comfy cushions
Adding a large accent rug
Adding a sofa bed couch for easy transition to guest room
Phase 2...creating a functional closet desk! Stay tuned for these plans!
Below are some before pictures. I can't wait to start making this space unrecognizable!
